THE REGULATORS - A Classic Rock cover band from Mid-Michigan. They have a widely diverse set of influences that have brought them together especially for this project. No genre is off limits, but the focus draws on their love and appreciation for Classic Rock that pulls in blues, funk, jazz and country elements that they have grabbed throughout their years of experience. If they stop learning new (old) material, it will be time to hang it up. In addition to being recognized for the quality of their sound, they like to bring out familiar songs that you don’t necessarily get to hear live in local clubs. The Regulators are known for delivering a powerful, exciting, and authentic performance! Don't miss the chance to see them live.
LES TIPTON - Lead Guitar, Vocals
Les got his first guitar at roughly the age of 10 for Christmas. Like a typical engineer, he had to disassemble it to see how it worked. It stayed in a box until age 14 when he figured how to put it back together. Saw his first live band at age 15 at Jeff Wolfs house party, The Star Ryders. That party changed his life as he saw the girls lined up watching the band. He had to get serious about this guitar thing and get a band. Bands he’s had had the privilege to play with:
Six Gun – Vernon MI. Country and Country Rock - first real gigging band right out of High School.
Westwind – Corunna MI Country Rock, Variety, Classic Rock- Top 40. Member for over 30 years
Viperbrood –Corunna MI - Hard Rock version of Westwind, Hired Gun – Kansas City KS – Variety Band, Candy Roze – Bloomington IL – Hard Rock Band, Protégé – Bloomington IL - Classic Rock Band, Abilene – Bloomington IL - Country Band, Westwind – Hey, back in MI, let’s get the band back together!, Bobby Arwood and the Regulators – Grand Blanc MI (Country), The Regulators – Grand Blanc MI - Classis Rock and Blues
Over the course of his guitar playing years, the thing that has been most rewarding, are the lasting friendships he’s
made with band mates and friends of the bands. He thanks God, his family, and all the musicians and friends who have taught and influenced him over his musical journey. They are: his Dad, Mom, Sisters Laura and Leanne, The Birchmeier family, The Culinski family, The late Grandpa and Grandma Tipton, Aunt Joanne, The late Grandpa and Grandma Killey and the rest of the Killey family, Uncle Gary for the Teisco amplifier, Jeff Wolf, Tim Hodge, Brian Hilgendorf, Buzz Ziegler, Tim Houser, Pat Carmody, His first real band - Six Gun, members (Ken Hyde, Randy Badgero, Bill Burns), Westwind – guys, you are like the brothers he never had (Troy Napier, John Teichman, Craig Thornton), Jason Smith from the Viperbood hard rock days, Hired Gun –(Rex Schneider, Ted Gardner, Linda Lindell, Darrin Chase),Candy Roze (Eric, Jeff), Protege - (Mike Todd, David Jensen, Rick Lehner, Danny Beal), Abilene – (Dennis Simmons, Kory Knipp, Paul Bloom, Eric Hansell, Tim Bilyeu) Bob Arwood, The Regulators - "guys, thank you for being there during my roughest times (Tom Ramos, Chuck Anzalone, Bill Burgess, Mike Manzardo)". His tools of the trade - Mesa Boogie, PRS, Gibson, Fender, G&L.

BILL BURGESS - Lead Guitar, Vocals
Bill started playing when he was 8 years old, after seeing his
cousin's band play "Get Back" by the Beatles. Like most 8 year olds, he got frustrated quickly and didn't stick with it. He eventually got beyond the frustration, and began really getting serious as a teenager. He's never been too far away from an acoustic guitar, but didn't pick up an "electric" for over 20 years. Recently got the itch to back in the full band scene, and had some great times the last few years with Mud Dog's Electric Brew (Geno Mayhew, Perry Johnson, Chuck Anzalone, and Brad Norman). His musical passion is classic rock, but enjoys just about any style. Main guitar inspirations are Peter Frampton, Joe Bonamassa, Pat Travers, Robin Trower, Warren Haynes, and David Gilmour -- and has long time admiration for a more local musician Rusty Wright. Bill is really enjoying the chemistry of the band, and sees the results of hard work and consistent rehearsals paying off. The main things that drive him are constantly adding new material, and playing tunes that people recognize (but that you don't hear a lot of bands performing). The REGULATORS is the band that challenges him to reach beyond his comfort zone, and he's working hard to keep up with the rest of the guys.
